Why plan ahead

Planning is about more than arrangements

Most families never talk about it until they have to. A plan written in calm makes every later conversation gentler, and it lifts the weight of guessing from the people you love.

1

We start by listening

Your story, your traditions and the relationships that shaped your life come first. The details follow from there.

2

We plan with care

Together we put your wishes in writing, in plain language, so your family knows what you want and does not have to decide under pressure.

3

We make it personal

From music to readings to rituals, we shape a goodbye that feels unmistakably like you, for the people who will gather to remember you.

Your traditions, honored

Every family approaches remembrance differently

I take the time to understand the religious, cultural and personal traditions that matter to you, and I plan around them.

About Josh

A lifetime of service, now helping families plan

Josh Kirsh has spent a lifetime showing up for Carmel. A graduate of Carmel High School and the University of Colorado Boulder, he has served on boards, commissions and volunteer organizations across the community, and he has never met a worthy local cause he could walk past.

Now he brings that same heart to Aaron-Ruben-Nelson as an Advanced Planning Specialist, helping individuals and families decide how they want to be remembered. The role fits him. Josh connects easily, listens closely and puts people at ease, which matters when the conversation is a tender one.

He has experience with Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist and Christian traditions, as well as green and natural burial, and he takes the time to learn what matters to each family. Planning a goodbye does not have to be gloomy. A little warmth, a little laughter and a lot of listening go a long way.

Josh is married to Aaron-Ruben-Nelson President Jennifer Nelson Williams and is the proud father of Holden.

How it works

A calm, simple way to begin

1

Have a conversation

We talk about what matters to you. There is no pressure and no obligation.

2

Put your wishes in writing

I guide you through the decisions, in your own time, and record them clearly.

3

Share it with your family

Your loved ones know your wishes, and you can update your plan whenever life changes.

From a family Josh has helped
